Carnegie Challenge Cup
Siddal fresh from their Keepmoat exploits on the weekend have gained a home draw against Batley Bulldogs in the fourth round.

On the back of their record breaking challenge cup win, the Halifax amateurs will be looking now to cause yet another upset against professional opposition. And in an amazing coincidence, they have been drawn against their coach Lee Greenwood’s professional side where he stars on the wing at Mount Pleasant.

Lee commented on the draw saying, "From a personal point of view, it’s the worst possible draw that could have been thrown to us. It’s certainly left me with a massive dilemna of do I play for my pro club and make myself a target for the Siddal lads, or do I coach my amateur team and suffer the ribbing of my pro team mates. I’ll be talking to Karl (Harrison) on this."

Asked about the chance of another Siddal upset, Lee said, "Realistically the result should go to Batley, we’re genuinely pushing for the top places in our division this season and should be able to deal with an amateur challenge comfortably." Lee continued, "I would be happy for Siddal to compete against a side of the Bulldogs stature and I know that they wouldn’t let themselves or any one down. But you’ve got to say that they wouldn’t have much of a chance of a result."

Full draw, Ties to be played on the weekend of April 16th/18th.
